My name is Daphne Wong and I am a freshman in this amazing college of John Jay. At first I was pretty excited to start college because I know I will be further continuing my education at the college of my choice. I was sure what I wanted to major in and that was forensic psychology. I was and still hold a great amount of interest in psychology and criminology. My goal is to simply to succeed in my life and career. I want a job where I am earning a great salary while I am actually enjoying what I do every day. There are too many people who may seem to look like they have the perfect job because of their salary but they may not be the most enthusiastic about their everyday jobs. I dread becoming one of those people, therefore I will work hard and continue my education in a field that I can enjoy working with. That is and will remain my most important goal for the next few years of my life.

Dear Classmate,
My name is Daphne Wong and I am 19 years old. I’m from Brooklyn, New York and my parents are Chinese. I have one younger brother who is 15 years old. This is my first year in John Jay and I love all that they have to offer. I went to James Madison High School and I was in the law program. I have learned numerous different things while being in the law program. Not only did I learn interesting facts about laws and different important precedent cases, I have learned what my interests are. There was a criminology class and that was what caught my interest. There was finally something I was curious and had a genuine interest in. I enjoyed learning about why criminals may act the way they do and just learning interesting facts about criminals and their mental mind. I continue to have my interests in this subject even now that high school is over. Now I can focus on exactly the classes that are related to criminology. The next few years may be hard but it’ll be worth it. Hopefully you have something you are extremely interested in and you will reach your goals.
